U.S. Border Patrol
Qualification Badges/Devices
The U.S. Border Patrol awards qualification badges/devices to Agents who have completed specific training and maintain certification in that specialty. These official devices are authorized to be worn on the uniform as long as the Agent remains qualified and/or an active member of the specialty unit. The exception is for those Agents that have successfully completed Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) or Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR), whom are authorized to wear the device for the rest of their career.
